HCS 20th Anniversary

Hopefully you joined us for our 20th Anniversary Concert on May 2 at The Wortham Theater Center. We sang with The Houston Children’s Chorus and The Prairie View A & M Concert Chorale, and the night was absolutely glorious! The world premiere of a work called Set Me on a Rock, commissioned by The Houston Choral Society and written specifically for this event by Dr. Adolphus Hailstork, turned out to be an extremely moving, powerful piece of music.

The Houston Choral Society will add the singing of this piece to some other historical concerts  performed in the past 20 years. Our repertoire has included such classics as Carl Orf’s Carmina Burana, Verdi’s Requiem, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Requiem, and Bach’s Christmas Cantata just to name a few.

Thanks for your continued support of The Houston Choral Society!
