2011 Ireland Concert Tour
The Houston Choral Society’s periodic European concert tours over the years have been life changing and memorable events for all that have made the trips, which have included concert venues in England, Scotland, Italy (and Vatican City), the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary. About a third of those who go with us are non-singers (friends, family and patrons) who have as much fun as the singers do. Certainly it has made for some lifetime relationships between many of us.
I don’t think we’ve ever been as excited, however, as we are about our scheduled concert tour of southern Ireland, June 13-23 of 2011, which was rescheduled from the originally planned 2010 date. Ireland is a gorgeous country with a vibrant and friendly people, offering colorful pastoral views and majestic cathedrals, a mixture of paganism and religious symbols in its architecture and history, friendly pubs and a lot of laughter—as the old song goes, “when Irish eyes are smiling, you can hear the angels sing.”
The materials listed in the links below describe the trip in much greater detail, including information about the costs, an easy payment plan, and the itinerary. Obviously, the per person cost is a bargain, given the fact that it covers a 10-day vacation in Europe, round-trip airfare, excellent hotels, air-conditioned buses, tour guides, about half of your meals and a host of amenities and treats. I will point out just two very important things:
- The deadline for your $250.00 deposit and reservation is March 1, 2010. Your fare is fully refundable if you have to cancel before October 15, 2010 (less an assessment of $150 for the airlines and administrative costs).
- If you are coming aboard after March 1, 2010, your initial deposit would include sufficient funds to bring you current in the payment schedule established in early 2010 (see “Financial Info” link below).
